Healing Bonds Initiative
We provide alternative methods of support for those who struggle with both mental and physical health while uplifting the community with events, fundraisers, and one-on-one reunification with solutions through connecting with one another. 💗
Seeds of Change, Blossoms of Hope
To create a more caring, healthier, and connected NYC by building healing bonds between students and the people who need them most — children, hospital patients, and families — through hands-on service, health awareness, and heartfelt generosity.
Health & Awareness
We host blood drives, run mental health and breast cancer awareness campaigns, and spread reliable information about health issues that touch our communities every day.
Heartfelt Community Care
We bring comfort through food drives, gently washed clothing donations, hospital visits, cards for cancer patients, bake sales, and fundraisers that lift up families and patients across NYC.

How It All Started
Founded by passionate high school students Israt Nowsin and Saima Ahmed, the Healing Bonds Initiative (HBI) is a pink-hued sisterhood (and brotherhood!) of young changemakers.
From blood drives and food drives to hospital visits, handwritten cards for cancer patients, gently washed clothing donations, bake sales, and health awareness campaigns for mental health, breast cancer, and more — we're building school clubs across NYC so more hearts can join our roots. Like delicate roots spreading through concrete, we wrap our city's most vulnerable in warmth and hope.

- •Oversees HBI's finances, budgets, and financial records.
- •Helps confirm that funds are managed responsibly.

- •Plans and organizes any and all HBI events, fundraisers, and activities.
- •Works with the team to make sure all events run smoothly.

❓ Community Outreach
- •Builds connections with other communities and programs.
- •Responds to emails.
❓ Social Media Manager
- •Manages HBI's social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
- •Helps with content that is eye-catching.
❓ Partnership Director
- •Builds and maintains relationships with businesses and potential partners (can include hospitals).
- •Looks for good opportunities.
❓ Parliamentarian
- •Helps ensure that board meetings and discussions follow proper procedures and remain fair.
- •Supports the board in making structured and informed decisions.
